Ok guys, our first new track in 23 years went online today, October 13, 2009! We posted "Waking the Fire", to our Myspace page and the Exumer1985.com site. This will be the first song from the new 2-track demo we recorded during the "5 Nights of Fire", tour this past Spring. I put the word out on the forum first, so you guys will actually be the first to know about this release. To be honest, it sounds nothing like the Exumer I love. The riffs are cool, but as I said something completely different than what I might have expected. And no offense Mem, but I really don't like your vocals on that one.

Well, to be honest Im pretty new to your music although Ive been listening to thrash most of my life, I must have missed you guys. So, it all sounds new to me. Is it the same as the old Exumer....no. But I really dig it because I havent gotten used to the old stuff yet, so I can listen with open ears so to speak.

I gotta get the other two albums as well. You guys really kick ass. I listen to Kreator, Sodom and Destruction....how did I miss Exumer?? Oh well, you got a new fan.

Sorry bro, I really appreciate your honesty!!! All I can sat is that we and I try to "deliver", to the best of my/our abilities. Having said that, I am 100% behind what we out! This is EXUMER 2009, not really a throw-back from the day. I hope you keep me honest and keep giving me your thoughts about our music! I really thank everyone who can speak his/her mind. This is really, really cool!!! Thanks for checking us out and for being so honest. A lot of people pretend that they a: were around back in the day, and b: that they used to listen to all sorts of bands back when, and c: that they were down with pretty much all of 80s thrash! Whatever with that, i don't know all the bands from the 80s, I sure was not down with every single band from back then and I would hate to pretend that I claim something I am not. So, thanks again and I hope you stick with this form of music, it is still my favorite style of metal and I missed out on a bunch of bands as well...and I started with the NWBHM, then thrash! The new song sounds great! I love the riffwork! Kickass vox as well - sounds a tad more hardcoreish to me but it fits the music perfectly. Can't wait to hear more! Keep the metal flowing!

I completely agree 100%. I have been listening to the new song every day since I first read about it. It is truly awesome. I like the hardcore influences. The guitar rocks, the vocals are awesome, the drums are great, very good production and I think I like this more than your old stuff, your old stuff still being very good. I think this a more modern sounding thrash metal. By modern I don't mean that crap you hear all the time on the radio, I'm talking about the way thrash metal should be now, not how it was 20-25 years ago.. You guys are awesome.

damn we fucking loved it!! it still sounds like exumer to me. i mean you can't expect it to sound just like possessed by fire. im impressed with the way they sound now. some of the new stuff the old thrash bands are putting out isn't too good but this is great stuff!!! keep it up!!!

I went to thrasho de mayo and after hearing the song palyed live, I thought it faithfully sounded in the vein of old Exumer.

Since I'm an old school fan, I really can't say I like "Waking The Fire." Maybe a little too much double bass pedal for my taste. The chorus was catchy live, though.

Hey Mem, you know Josh? "Eyes of Horror." The one with the possessed by fire tattoo? I'm practically his best thrasher friend. Man as a matter of fact, I introduced him to Exumer. I actually can't recall If he introduced me to you at thrasho.(not that I was high or anything).

What can I say other than that I think you giving us this feedback can only
make the new songs stronger, meaning that we will continue to try to find a balance between staying true to our original sound but also sound like a band that plays in the "now". It is all meant to share with you guys in the end anyway and we care as long as you care...Wake the fire!!! Mem
